Nickelodeon’s Ashley Argota To Headline The Girl Scouts B.I.G Expo January 30th

Los Angeles – January 26, 2010 – “True Jackson VP” star Ashley Argota will be the headlining act at the B.I.G (Believe In Girls) Expo concert on January 30, 2010 at the Ontario Convention Center from 10am – 6pm (PT).  The “Believe in Girls Expo”, formerly known as, “Girlfest”, is an exciting all day event with an all star line up of guest talent and speakers that attracts thousands of kids from the Los Angeles area and will showcase some of the dynamite Girl Scout programming that you won’t find anywhere else.  With more than 70,000 square feet of activity booths for all ages, a special surprise keynote speaker, vendors, exhibitors, breakout sessions, programming areas, cookie rally booths and activities, and plenty of fun, The Believe in Girls Expo is a B.I.G. deal!   Ashley will be one of fifteen acts performing during the day, but she will be the signature headlining act to come on at noon.

At the tender age of nine where she wowed at the legendary Apollo Theater in New York during one of their amateur night contests where she beat out over 200 aspiring entertainers.  At that moment, her career was launched and she was immediately asked to appear on the hit show, “Showtime at the Apollo” as the “Star of Tomorrow.”  After that, Ashley was on a roll and she landed a lead role in the stage production of The Lion King where she traveled with fellow cast members around the country performing to sell-out audiences and standing ovations.  Ashley was also a crowd favorite on the TV show “Star Search 2003” hosted by comedian Ben Stein.  Ashley stole the show and was praised for having such a commanding stage performance for someone so young.  She went on to place second in the semi-finals.   From there she went on to showcase her singing abilities in such plays as American Girl and Carousel.
